Keeping up with the monthly updates is the only way this space remains moving forward. It’s been tough to find the time to sit down and write. At the end of the day my mind is too tired or spinning in other directions. When I do sit down to write what pours out are heartbroken stories of time passing too quickly in motherhood. I’ve had a draft saved since November titled “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” that tries to capture a moment in time with six month old Eleanor. I’m so worried these memories will fade that I have started keeping a record in my notes app. Musings about style and shopping, my favorites, are less frequent topics. Though I do share a lot of my finds on stories. I am considering sharing more of my motherhood writings in this space and opening up that part of life a bit more. Is that something you would want to see here?
Listening to—
The Tortured Poet’s Department on repeat. What else? My favorite changes by the minute, this album is so good!
Watching—
We don’t have a show that we’re watching at the moment. I’m really looking forward to Bridgerton coming back this week. I did watch Anyone But You recently though and thought it was cute!
Making—
Megan Karp’s almond flour chocolate chip cookies (recipe here). It started as a fun gluten free and vegan baking activity for Eleanor to do with Kiki and has now become a weekly must.
Doing—
Planting our garden! We have been plotting this since we moved in. There are two last things to plant for the garden (lavender and bachelor buttons) and the pea gravel just needs to be ordered. I decided to go with “long island wash” vs. gray. I think a soft beige is a nicer neutral for the look we’re going for. I am so excited to see this space come together! The garden boxes look beautiful — I designed, JD built.
Shopping for—
Are ironic boat and totes still in style? I am ordering normal ones for the girls for travel this summer and am so tempted to get one for myself with a silly nickname. I keep laughing out loud just thinking about it. It might have to be done. I think it would make a great little on the go diaper/beach/throw and go bag. LL Bean has a 10 character limit, but found this one that looks the same and allows more.
Happy May friends! See you again real soon. xx
