Happy August

This summer has had many ups and downs. Between losing Paisley and making progress on the house, what a ride it’s been. This weekend will be a bright spot. My sister is getting married and we are beyond excited to celebrate and see family and friends we haven’t had the opportunity to get together with in a very long time. Eleanor will be a flower girl and I cannot wait to watch her ham it up heading down the aisle. She is at such a fun age right now and is just the sweetest.

I hate to say it but I have started thinking ahead to fall. The way the air felt when I stepped outside the other morning stirred this craving. There is something magical about cool morning air in the summer. It reminds me of being up at a lake in the woods. It’s calming and full of promise. There is still a lot of summer left and I fully intend on soaking it up, even if I did just order new sneakers for fall. They are a wear now pair though too, seasonless really. Will share once they arrive and I have decided I like them.

There are so many sales going on now, it has made me start thinking more about my fall wardrobe. I have decided that my fall style is going to keep the same light and cozy coastal summer color palette this year. Lately I have been experimenting with mixing different pieces in my closet with ones I don’t normally. I actually created one of my favorite looks of the summer so far this way, which was an oversized blue and white striped shirt with knit pants. I really need to do a huge closet clean out and organize everything.

This month I am starting a personal fitness challenge that I did back in summer of 2020 that I am very excited to get back into. I will document the process and share my results at the end of the 31 days.

And after a lot of reflection, I decided that I am going to put more effort into capturing and sharing my daily outfits.

I’m really excited for this month!
