Spring Things for Your Home

With the start of spring just a few days away I am itching to make a few updates around our apartment—a tale as old as time, ha! I love making little changes to our home decor with the seasons. It’s nice to freshen things up, especially now that I spend so much of my time hanging out around the apartment with the babe and the pup. I always want our space to feel comfortable and functional, though lately it has been feeling a bit tight, and colorful. Baby things everywhere. We could definitely use more space, said every parent ever I’m sure.

With that being said, I am looking forward to getting all of our citrus trees back outside. They have grown a lot over the last two years and are taking up a bit more space. New planters are on the list. I have already swapped out the couch pillow covers for the season and am eyeing several other pieces that need updating, like our quilt.

01. Quilt 〰 We have been in need of a new quilt for our bed for quite a while. Our current one has seen better days, like when it lived in our old apartment before Finny came along. Puppy Finn did a number on that quilt, which is funny because he wasn’t allowed on the bed when he was little. It was a Marshall’s purchase when we first moved into our old apartment and I never expected to keep it so long so I’m not upset about it. But, I have been on the lookout for a while for a new quilt, or quilts. I love the idea of swapping them out every now and then. I really like the look of this one—a soft calming blue with a subtle botanical print, beautiful!

02. Rippled water tumblers 〰 Oh my goodness these tumblers. I happened across them a while ago via Panoplie and then rediscovered them today. I need them in my life. I envision sipping rosé on the terrace out of these on warm evenings soon to come. And sipping water out of them while I work. Everything is a wine glass in my mind, especially as we get closer to warmer weather. Things that are less likely to topple over and break why outdoors but still pretty and elevate the setting.

03. Handwoven seagrass baskets 〰 I’m still looking for cute baskets after H&M sadly canceled the lidded basket in my last Friday Five post. Truth be told I am always looking for baskets, ha! I love this one. The appliquéd edges make it so much more interesting. Little details like this make all the difference.

04. Scalloped edge terracotta planters 〰 As we plan to move our lemon and blood orange trees back outside for the summer I’ve been looking for new planters for some of them. These were an instant add to cart. Hello scalloped edges. Insert heart eyes emoji here.

05. Neutral pillow covers 〰 I recently got these pillow covers to swap out with the white ones that Finn kept removing from the inserts. Pillow covers that zip closed are apparently a necessity over here with the way this dog rearranges the couch on a daily basis.
