Our 5 Most Loved and Used Baby Items

Creating a registry and sorting through all of the baby things was a process, one I certainly took very seriously. There are so many products out there, and so many reviews. It can be overwhelming to figure out what you actually need and even trickier what you will actually use! I feel like the latter is completely dependent on your baby and lifestyle. Some items we registered for were great from day one, while others have only recently started to become everyday staples so I wanted to share our top five items and a little about why we love them.

Solly Baby Wrap

While I love our Konges Slojd carrier, we reach for this wrap a lot more often! It’s great for around the apartment, where we spend most of our time. It’s also lightweight, which is especially great for summer days. We have two and love them. I tried to go gender neutral in design, especially being that JD would be wearing the wraps too but could not resist this sweet floral Liberty print. (I have a top that matches too, ha!) We also have this oat dot color and get so much use out them. Note: It is a little tricky at first but once you get it down it’s easy as pie.

DockATot

This is one of those items that has been great from day one! It’s been a great place to “dock” baby when we need to place her down not in her bassinet. It was a lifesaver in those early days! She’s getting a little big for it now at 4 months and much rather prefers to sit up and be a part of the action so it may end up being kind of short lived, at least for us, but we are still using it and I hear you can unbuckle the end and use it as a lounger for them when they’re older/bigger.

Baby Bjorn Bouncer

Which brings me to my next favorite, the Baby Bjorn bouncer! This was not her favorite thing earlier on. She was tiny so didn’t fit great in it early on, but now I rely on this thing to allow me to get things done, ha! She will sit and play with her toy bar attachment and bounce while I wash dishes or make myself lunch so I’m a huge fan. This bouncer has definitely replaced the DockATot more recently. We even took it to the beach! It actually worked out great with the sand and was a nice and safe place to sit her while we moved about.

Motorola Baby Monitor

There are so many baby monitor options out there. It took us forever to sort through and decide. This one came recommended to us by a friend and has so far been great. One of the things that we liked most about it when deciding was that has a separate screen so that we don’t have to constantly have the monitor up on our phones and would actually be able to use them while she naps. While I love the idea of phone connectivity I don’t find it to be the most practical in execution. We are able to see her on a separate screen and talk to her too through the monitor, even though our place is tiny and she can definitely hear us when we’re downstairs anyway.

Wooden Gym

We love this wooden gym, Finn included! It’s inexpensive, pretty, and Baby seems interested in it as well so no complaints here! We use this daily as part of our tummy time routine.

I have also considered writing a post about what I brought in my hospital bag, which was very pared down — especially since I ended up using almost everything we brought with us! Let me know if you’d like to see that coming up!
