My mind has felt so scattered this week. We came down with a cold last week, Eleanor and I, and now JD is finishing up his turn with it, and it has been so hard for me to get us back on track. We are still sitting on the couch to watch a show together in the afternoons and I feel like I’m getting nothing done. While I cannot say I’m thrilled with this new habit, I am fully savoring every moment of it. She gives hugs and kisses all day every day, but she only snuggles when she isn’t feeling well. This afternoon tv time has become a rare exception where she will let me snuggle her and I am content to indulge for a little bit longer.

I have decided to skip the Friday Five today. I’ve been doing a lot of browsing but haven’t come up with very much that I truly love and don’t want to share things just for the sake of having a post up. Honestly, I have been feeling stuck in my searches lately. There are a few items that I have been wanting to update or add to my wardrobe but have not been able to find what I am looking for. One of those items is a new jacket/coat. I’m torn on a few things. A lighter, off white or gray coat has been on my list for years now and I have yet to find the perfect one. Then I am also very interested in a cropped plaid shirt jacket style that I know is very trendy and won’t last me as long as I’d like at this point in the season. I do have a red and black plaid coat that I love to pull out around the holidays. Then I have also been looking for a new pair of knee high boots but have been unable to decide about color or find a pair in the exact style I’m looking for. Color-wise, dark brown or black? This pair perfectly marries the two, but they are more than I am willing to spend if they are not the pair. I also have concerns about heel height. I’ve been so much of a sneaker girl since becoming a mama and the idea of going for a walk in the park in heels is not appealing to me. Maybe when we get to that suburbs life. Will have to chat more on that topic soon as we try to figure out where we want to live long term.

I do however need to note that I really love these boots. They have the look I am going for, definitely. But they don’t meet the croc embossed requirement. This pair also looks great, but I am a bit skeptical about the heel shape. Do I really need a croc embossed boot? How important is that to me really? Do I just wait for the Totême pair to go on sale end of season or do we just move on? I think for right now I need to move on to the next topic, ha.

This weekend we had initially planned to be out of town but those plans have sadly changed so we will be hanging around the city. It will be nice to stay put with nice weather for a change. We have been on the go on weekends for months it seems. I am looking forward to spending some quality time at home and catching up on some things. Today’s goal is to tackle the laundry between meetings and plan some outfits to shoot this weekend.
