DIRECTORY
Is it just me or are we all ready for Christmas? Scrolling through social media it sure feels like we are all on the same page. I know we still have Thanksgiving later this month, but I’m ready to put the wreath on the door and break out all of the holiday decor. I ordered a new candle the other day to mark the season and have already watched Home Alone.
Since having Eleanor I have gotten very into celebrating each holiday as much as possible, within reason. I want to make everything so special for her. I cannot wait to set up her little Christmas tree. Last year she was too little to help decorate, but very much enjoyed looking at it. This year I am sure she will be all about helping to decorate. The stage she is at now is so sweet, she wants to do everything we are doing. It cracks me up when she gets the broom out and pretends to sweep. I shared all of the details of her tree and decorations in this post, which I plan to refresh this year with current options for ornaments, etc. This is the tree we have. It sold out very early last year so wanted to share now. It usually goes on sale every now and then as well so I’ll keep an eye on it.
That being said, I am still looking forward to Thanksgiving. Aside from 2020 we have hosted each year since we moved uptown. Living on a park block spoiled us rotten with private views of the parade and I will never get over it. We would have our guests over early and pop down to see Santa go by before heading back to the apartment for appetizers and cocktails. Last year we resumed that tradition by walking over with our sleeping baby in tow. This year may very well be our last living in the city, or at least this apartment so I want to make the most of it. I am looking forward to seeing the city all dressed up again for the holidays.
Speaking of holiday things, I have started putting together a few gift guides for the season. I’m very excited about these! I always enjoy reading them each year on my favorite sites. I think it’s time to put out a few of my own outside of the usual shopping round ups. I’ve already shared a few ideas for little ones which are saved on my “finds” highlight on ig. Stay tuned for all holiday things to come!
And on the topic of instagram, oof I have been feeling so disinterested in the app lately. For the month of November I have decided to challenge myself by sharing one photo to the grid each day. Everything that used to end up in my feed lives only in stories and highlights these days. I want to challenge myself and try to bring back that authentic feel of the early days, even if still photography is old hat. So don’t be alarmed to see daily posts from me over there and if you have not hit that follow button already please do! It’s sure to get interesting this month.
Outside of blogging and motherhood and work, I spent an hour and a half in a virtual queue on Tuesday to sign up for the Taylor Swift Verified Fan presale. Based on the queue and the fact that the Ticketmaster website crashed just for the sign up I am thinking it’s not very likely I’ll be getting a code. Fingers crossed, and best of luck to all of you who are also hoping to get tickets for the Eras tour!
That’s all I’ve got for now… not a lot going on at the moment.
