The last few days we have woken up to temperatures in the 60s. It has been wonderfully refreshing and a bit sad at the same time. I hate to see summer come to an end. It is my season. I love fall too and am excited to pull out my sweaters and cozy up to the fireplace, but I’m not there yet.

My goal style wise for the fall season is to wear as much of my preexisting wardrobe as possible. Moving has filled me with the urge to clean out my closet and focus on what I reach for on a regular basis. If I’m not reaching for it it needs to go. Then we can focus on what is missing.

Day to day I want to feel more put together and not rely on leggings so much. This summer has been a good test of that. I have forced myself to get dressed every day and try pieces I already have in new ways. This has helped me see what I’m missing too. As I’m saving pieces for cooler days ahead I have a few categories in mind that I’m shopping for.

Cozy and charming lounge approved sets. I’ve had my eye on this Free People set for a bit, and own this Leset top in white. Thinking to pick up brown and black this season with the matching pants in one shade. It has been my most worn tee since purchasing and know I’d get a ton of use out of a second color.

Wide leg denim has my heart. It’s all I’m seeing right now and I love it. There is something so polished about a good pair with a more dressed up top.

The perfect oversized denim shirt. While we are on the topic of denim, a good denim shirt is a wardrobe staple that can be worn in so many different ways. I have always liked to keep one in rotation but have noticed this is a spot in my closet that needs updating. My criteria: oversized and casual with some structure.

Oversized sweaters with crew necks or polo style collars. Always the backbone of my fall/winter wardrobe. This one from H&M caught my eye a few weeks ago and promptly sold out. It looks like it keeps popping back up in different colors so I’ll be keeping an eye on it.

Silver shoes, jewelry, and accessories. I am a gold girl, but lately I’ve been having a moment with silver. I’ve been craving a cute pair of silver flats and earrings as of late.

Also on my shopping list, but further down the line —

Western inspired boots. These did a real number on me last week. I didn’t know I needed them and now I do.

And fitted miniskirts, to balance out all of the oversized tops on my mind and add a more polished, feminine touch.
