Summer Day to Night

Back when I first started blogging I would put together posts on Wednesdays where I shared different items that caught my eye styled together in a collage. I called the series “Currently Loving” and enjoyed sharing these pieces that were either lofty wishlist items or soon to be added to my closet and dreaming up how I’d style them. The current state of the world has left me feeling uninspired and unable to shoot my own outfits, which let’s face it, would not be all that interesting at the moment. I have taken full advantage of the quarantine workout attire lifestyle and have not been shopping beyond the necessities.

But lately, I have been doing some browsing and keep finding all of these really cute pieces that I would love to purchase and style in a more normal time. So, I figured now might be a good time to revive this series and share a few recent finds with you.

Life in New York has been unprecedented these last few months. While we may be entering Phase 2 of reopening soon, I cannot see things returning to as they were for a very long time. Cramming into a charmingly tiny restaurant in the West Village where your neighbor accidentally puts their wine glass down on your table? Nope. Will that even exist again outside of my memories? I hate to think about the possibility that it could not. All of the things and places I love most in and about this city will look a little different. But this isn’t meant to be a sob story. We can still go for walks and enjoy the quiet sun filled streets and have takeaway picnics at home or in the park while we wait to see what the future holds. This is an outfit I would wear on such an occasion.

I love an outfit that can easily transition from day to night. These days, that notion makes me laugh, but as I’m all about longevity when it comes to my wardrobe it’s something I keep in mind when shopping for new pieces. I really like the buttons and length of this floral dress and think it would make a great transition from the office to happy hour. I would pair it with these cute bow sandals, a woven crossbody bag, tortoiseshell sunglasses, and a straw hat for day, and pop on a classic denim jacket for a cooler evening look. And as always with simple, dainty jewelry. I purchased this bracelet in white and gold a while back and wear it every day. It is the kind of piece that looks great with any outfit whether it be super casual or very formal.
