Hello, happy January, and happy new year! I hope that you had a lovely Christmas and New Years and were able to enjoy some time off these last few weeks. 

We spent Christmas at home just the four of us (always counting Finn!). We had been going back and forth about how we wanted to spend our first Christmas with Eleanor for months. I loved the idea of being home for Christmas morning—waking up and coming downstairs and celebrating just us. Since E is so little we had debated heading to family for this first Christmas, but with the most recent spike and testing difficulties staying home felt like our best option and so we did. More of the same for New Years, though we did miraculously stay awake until midnight to watch the fireworks over the park. 

It is tricky to navigate this world. We are nearly two years into this pandemic I am feeling frustrated and unsure of how to best protect my child while also leaving the apartment. There is no right or wrong answer for that. But it’s hard and my comfort level is not very high at the moment. I am full of hope that things will improve this year.

So moving on to this month. I have some big plans. A new blog design is already in the works and I could not be more excited about this! I am planning a February launch. Having worked on many a website build professionally I want give myself enough time to properly execute the new site, really go through everything and make sure everything looks and works just as it should. 

In the meantime, I have a handful of post ideas for personal style and things for the home on deck. I just ordered a new throw for the couch after falling down an Etsy rabbit hole and need to share all the details once it arrives. I have been on a major Etsy kick lately. Something about the freshness of a new year makes me want to move things around in my apartment and reevaluate my wardrobe. I’ve also been on the lookout for a new pair of black boots. I found a few pairs that I like but my needs apparently keep changing so we are still on the fence with that one, but maybe a roundup is in order. FYI all of the boots I’ve been eyeing can be found on the shop page.

As I mentioned in my last post about setting intentions for the new year, moving forward I plan to prioritize a few things over others, like overall health and have been thinking about chatting more about that topic here, which is something I have not previously done. Watch this turn into a Friday Happy Hour cocktail series. I used to do this series back in the day and it was always so much fun to come up with different cocktail recipes each week, and try out old recipes. Hmmm, okay. Maybe we need to bring that back too!
