Hello, hello! March is one of my favorite months. It marks the birthdays of two of my favorite pups—Finny and Mischa. The start of spring is on the horizon, daylight savings, warmer days ahead! There is a lot to look forward to with the beginning of spring. A fresh new season and a new perspective, always welcome here.
This last week has been heavy. I have been pretty quiet across the board trying to process everything that is going on in the world. It has been tough to feel inspired to create and share, but at the same time seeking beauty in the every day is very much needed right now.
In my life
JD is finally starting his paternity leave on Monday and the sheer joy that thought brings me is insurmountable. His office allows leave anytime within the first year so we chose to delay it until Goldie was a bit older. His leave will look a lot different than mine, ha! By the end of my leave I had only just figured out breastfeeding, it went by in a blink. JD will get a much different experience with a very mobile, energetic, little ladybug. I am jealous, but also thankful that I get to work from home and spend this time with them too.
I have big plans of reading a book during the next three months. I actually have two in my possession that I have been aiming to get started, but it has not happened. “Me time” as a Mama—I had heard that it’s hard to come by but man oh man I had no idea how little personal time I would end up having. Hoping that JD being home will help with that, ha! I have so many plans around this leave for getting my life in order. And spending a lot more time outside. Please wish me all of the luck!
We are starting to plan a few little trips too. I would love to go out East again soon and getting Goldie girl a passport is on the agenda for next week. Lots of family time coming up, especially with her first birthday in April!
On the blog
I still have not perfected that Swedish sticky cake recipe. Still have lots of drafts in the works that need to hit publish on. Posts to come on how I select my forever pieces of jewelry, baby finds—I owe you an updated list of our favorites and have been considering going through our registry and chatting about what we loved, didn’t use, etc.
I also recently added the “Spring Shop” tab to the top navigation. Will continue adding to that as I find new pieces as usual.
Okay, I think that is it for now. It is time for me to go have a glass of wine and watch something to distract myself on tv.. Oh, which reminds me! I just added a new show to my list of things to watch! It’s called Ghosts and airs on CBS and it just so happens to star Brandon Scott Jones, my improv 301 teacher from way back in my days at UCB! I loved him, he was the funniest person to see perform!
Okay, now off to the wine. Goodnight!
