I really love a raffia bag. For Spring, Summer, and will happily dip into Fall with one. And, in the right context maybe even break one out in Winter — but I live in the snowy Northeast so it needs to be specific. There are definitely some styles that work in all seasons without looking like you’re in denial about the weather. I digress. Everyone loves a raffia bag.
Due to their popularly, there are great finds available at every price point. Every brand makes their own version of a raffia/straw/woven tote. Everyone. You can pay $18 on Amazon or $1400 at Saint Laurent. Though those higher price points are not as practical, especially in the current economy. Or ever as my husband believes. “It’s a basket” he said when I showed him a pricey sale find the other day, ha. He isn’t wrong. And it was pretty. But it was also more on the side of being a basket than a handbag. I’ll give him that one. Fair assessment JD. So were was I? Yes. So I am due for a tote update. Or actually a tote in general. I have a beach bag I’ve had to ages that cannot make the transition to an every day bag. I am currently dreaming up a nice tote, preferably lined that can go with everything and go anywhere. It could serve as a diaper bag in a pinch, head to the beach, or brunch, or dinner. I may be asking too much here, ha. But I am sure it exists somewhere out there at a price that won’t break the bank. I am also keeping an eye out for a specific style on resale sites that is slightly different in description from what I’v just described. It’s definitely not a tote, and a lot more fun to say the least! So, as I search for this magical raffia bag I wanted to share some of the beauties I have come across so far here.
