It’s been a long time coming, but Friday Five is finally back for Vol. 25!

I haven’t been doing very much shopping since I gave up on hard pants earlier in the season. I have been living in my favorite pair of linen shorts all summer. Je ne regrette rien. But lately, the mornings have been cool and I’ve started thinking ahead to fall styles. There were two sweaters from H&M I shared to stories last week that caught my eye and really got my wheels turning. The challenge lately has been finding the time to put myself together between the babies, work, and all the projects we’ve got going on with the house. I’ve been trying to get myself into an actual outfit every day and it has been pretty productive, though I’ve yet to properly document one — a point for another time. So fall style.. I’m very into black and white right now. The contrast of a creamy summer white against something more stark feels appropriate for a change in season. Black is timeless, classic, without season and therefore makes the perfect color to bring summer into fall.

This collection is rather whimsical to me. The pattern embroidered on the shorts is so playful and unexpected paired with a classic striped knit, on which the collar and deep neckline add interest. This bag caught my eye last fall and is officially on my list now that it comes in gold hardware. I love the shape of it. Then we have western inspired boots as I remain to this day heavily influenced by the sparkle of the Eras tour. This pair is subtle and not too in your face. Topped off with sweet gold coquille earrings because it is after all still summer.
