DIRECTORY
This week has been eventful on the home decor front. We finally decided on and ordered a rug for our bedroom! It’s hard to believe we’ve already been in our apartment for 8 months and it’s just coming together. Deciding on the pieces you live with every day is a big deal in my book. I want to love seeing them every day, so that adds an extra element of pressure, and also don’t want them to break the bank. I plan on doing a bedroom reveal later on once we have everything in place so more on that at a later date!
That said, I’ve been browsing for all sorts of things this week and wanted to share my top 5 favorite finds!
Jute Area Rug
First things first, THE rug! Back in November JD and I went on a weekend trip out to Shelter Island and the room at the hotel we stayed in had a rug just like this, which I loved! We have been debating rug styles for ages. I have loved the look of a sisal or jute rug layered with a vintage oushak rug and must have about a hundred pinned across my “home decor” Pinterest boards, but seeing the room with just the jute rug by itself was a game changer. Since we have deemed Finn old and well behaved enough to be trusted, we decided it was time to order. This one is currently on sale, shipped and arrived in 2 days for free, and looks lovely in person. I cannot wait to put it down this weekend!
Geometric Wine Glasses
I stumbled upon these glasses on Pinterest this morning and it was love at first sight. I am already dreaming of sipping rosé out of them on our deck when the weather warms up. I just cannot get over the geometric design and the fact that you can set these down on their side without spilling is a major plus. The shipping cost is high since they ship from the Netherlands but I think I may have to do it. I’ll be sure keep you posted!
Workout Leggings
The hype about these leggings is big enough that the news made its way to me (I always feel like I’m out of the loop when it comes to cool new things) so that must mean they’re good! I have been on the hunt for a pair of dark gray, almost black leggings for months and let me tell you it is not the easiest color to find! The reason I’m so drawn to it is because I think it will be a little more flexible than the standard black pair for being out and about in the city. I am not typically a fan of wearing athletic wear out of the house so the more I can make a piece work, the better.
Speckled Scrunchie
Scrunchies are one trend I never thought would come back and I’m even more surprised to be on board with! This adorable black and tan speckled one is currently sitting in my cart. Probably not for long. I may have to pop by a store this weekend to grab one.
Weatherproof Ankle Boots
A few years ago I was inspired by the effortlessly glamorous Elizabeth Chambers Hammer and made the decision to give myself a lift by always wearing shoes with a small heel. I snagged two pairs of pointed toe boots on sale at Nordstrom and have been wearing them nonstop in the colder months ever since. About a month ago I injured my toe which required stitches and forced me out of my pointed toe boots so I have been looking around for a pair that doesn’t put any extra pressure on that area. I found these on sale, coincidentally also at Nordstrom (not sponsored, though I wish!) and snapped them up immediately. Today is my first day wearing them out and so far so good. I like that they hit a little higher up on the ankle so you can get away with cropped pants without your legs freezing and the BEST part is that they are weatherproof so you can wear them in the rain without worrying. The different colors and sizes keep coming back in stock so it’s worth refreshing the page and checking at different times throughout the day! I took my normal size and they fit perfectly.
And on that note, Happy Friday and have a great weekend!
