Editor’s Letter 10.23

I sit on the floor with my youngest between my legs. She throws her hands up in the air and squeals. She’s just learned “so big” and is so proud of herself she claps. I run my hands over her head and kiss the top of it. I cannot fathom the horror going on in the world right now.

It has been a heavy month — a term I fear I say too often. It hasn’t felt right to post and share as normal and to be honest I have wanted to spend more time offline.

I don’t have words. Certainly not the right ones. I am not going to sit here and pretend that I can wrap my mind around the complexities of situation. My heart breaks every time I watch the news. Each story that involves children, it has been devastating. There have been a lot of tears.

My heart is with all of those effected.

On a lighter note, I wanted to share my monthly inspiration, what I’m up to.

Listening to — The Only One Left by Riley Sager
Next up on my list of audiobooks is The Only One Left by Riley Sager. I’m going to start one last thriller before Halloween, but I’m already craving something lighter.

Watching — Totally Killer on Amazon Prime
I kept seeing clips of this movie on TikTok so we watched recently. Lighthearted and fully aware of it’s silliness, a fun watch for spooky season.

Shopping for — Bathroom fixtures
We decided to paint the cabinet and replace the lighting and fixtures in the guest bath last week. Hoping to wrap up that project by the end of this one. The new vanity light arrives tomorrow. We have a new shower curtain. Just need to select the fixtures and we will be good to go.

Making — Pumpkin olive oil loaf
I saw Megan Karp share this on her ig stories last week and immediately added it to my fall baking list. The ingredients have been secured. I am so excited for this one. Recipe here.

Going — To see the Eras Tour movie
Because I need to relive the magic of this concert.

Until next time. xx
