I am ready for a change of season. Usually I mourn the end of summer but not this year. Living in a new place has left me feeling refreshed as one season comes to an end and the next begins. We are seeing each new season for the very first time in our home. The way the light filters in to each room as the days go by, the flowers blooming, the decorations in town — it’s all been lovely to see. I’ve already had a taste of what may be to come as we’ve been out here for visits over the years. All that to say it is very special and I am looking forward to experiencing autumn here.

Life has been busy. I keep thinking about this saying I’ve heard around — “the days are long but the years are short”. Recently the girls’ nap schedule has gone off course. We were in a sweet spot where they were having the afternoon nap at the same time and now we are not. Well, Isabel would prefer to stay awake all afternoon period, unless she’s in the baby carrier. Then she’ll sleep. It has been challenging for us all, but I know how short this time it. These days of her wanting to nap on my chest are ones I will long for in just a few months time.

Instead of the usual projections of wishes and plans for the month ahead I thought it would be nice to share where I’m currently at.

Listening to — None of This is True by Lisa Jewell
Something about this time of year has me craving something spooky to read, or listen to in this case. Audiobooks have been a nice way for me to read again while also holding a baby.

Watching — Below Deck Down Under
A few years back we got very into Below Deck Med and while waiting for it to come back I stumbled onto the current season of Below Deck Down Under and am hooked.

Shopping for — A new pair of jeans
Eyeing this pair big time but have no patience for breaking in non stretch denim.

Making — An apple galette
Last week Goldie wouldn’t let us leave the grocery store without a 5 pound bag of apples. This galette happening!

Playing — Fantasy football
My team’s name this year is All Tua Well (Taylor’s Version). I’m obsessed.

Going — Wine tasting
My dad’s birthday is at the end of the month. We’ve made it a nice little tradition to visit him and then stop at our favorite vineyard for a glass of wine afterward. I’m looking forward to it.
