Whenever I’m feeling stuck in a style rut I go back to basics. Simple outfits in neutral tones are always a winning combination for me. Lately I have been leaning heavily on my basics as the sudden change in temperature has left me feeling torn about what to wear each day. That got me thinking about how I can elevate these pieces as I update or replace them. I happened upon this pointelle tee recently and immediately added to cart. It’s such a simple piece with a subtle design but isn’t your basic tee shirt. Don’t get me wrong, I love a simple white tee. They are a daily staple in my closet, but adding a little more detail helps break things up a bit and elevate something simple.
Elevating basics can be as simple as adding a little interest through a subtle design or updating classics in luxe fabrics. Lately I have found myself searching for simple ribbed knits in wool and cashmere. One thing I have yet to really start collecting are simple pieces in nicer fabrics. I love the idea of this knit. It is something you could pair with jeans for a casual daytime look and dress up for an evening out with a heels and a skirt. Transitional pieces like that are such winners in my book.
