Friday Five—Vol. 6

How how how is it Friday already? I’ll say it again, time is a thief. And I am still over emotional about the end of JD’s pat leave and finding our groove again. I will say that I have kept up with our daily walks and it has been amazing for my mental health. I keep panicking a bit before we head out every day and then as soon as we are out of the apartment my mind calms and we have a lovely time. I also ordered this stroller caddy which I am very excited to try out. I have been saying I’m going to get one for the longest time. I love our stroller but one of the fussy things about it is that they don’t make a lot of accessories, like stroller caddies or a tray for snack time so I have to do a bit more digging to find things that will work for/with it. Not a big deal. Not going to make it one. But I have been dragging my feet on finding one. Hopefully this is it! Going to stop at our fave coffee shop for a test run later.

Now on to the Friday Five! While I have been on a shopping pause for the most part, I have continued browsing because I love to and there have been so many good sales going on here and there lately. I also have been dreaming up summer activities, a wishlist of sorts — lunch at Lunch in Amagansett, many many beach days, botanical garden visits, a cousins trip to the zoo, happy hours on our terrace, etc. And with summery daydreams comes summery outfit ideas. You see where I’m going with this.

One thing I would like to update in my wardrobe is my swimwear. I’m due for a new suit and have been eyeing one-piece styles lately. I always struggle with a one piece because if they fit my chest they are never tight enough on my midsection and then I end up looking like a log. Not ideal. But I love the look and want to find one that works. I really love the design elements on this one, how the ribbing changes at the top. It’s also on sale, though still an investment. Word is out on the fit.

A super cute one-piece that I can speak to fit on is this one I picked up for E. The ruffle detail gets me. It looks so darn cute on her! I personally find H&M runs a bit big for babies. I have her in 9-12M and she has room to keep growing for the rest of the summer. For reference, she is in 12-18 months in most other brands, except baby Zara, which also runs huge.

How cute is this hat! It reminds me a bit of my visor and I just love the detail here.

Speaking of details, the woven detail on this tote is so good. I have been looking for a new everyday bag that can stand in for the full diaper backpack in a pinch but also make the transition to the beach.

And finally, a good pair of shorts. Have been eyeing this style lately and am so close to ordering, ha. If they come back in stock in white it’s happening! I have tried a few pairs out over the last few years and really love this pair, but want something a little more refined as well. Everyone raves about the AGOLDE Parkers which I have and did really like them at first they have not held up as well as they should given the price point. Also, everyone notes to size down in them but I always end up going up a size? It is so confusing, and probably because I am in fact shaped like a log and that swimsuit illusion is not an illusion. I kid. Sometimes I wonder if my humor translates well in text. I guess let me know? Haha.

Happy Friday and have a good weekend!
